
Wade Dyke
Wade Dyke is the President at Kaplan University (KU), appointed
in 2010. Overseeing all operations for KU's online and campus-based
academic programs, he draws upon his experience as an educational
innovator to build a learning environment designed for the needs of
the mobile 21st Century student and their employers.
Mr. Dyke previously worked for parent company Kaplan Inc., serving
in the roles of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of
Kaplan Higher Education (KHE). He was responsible for the launch of
the first Kaplan University Learning Centers. Mr. Dyke also
expanded new learning opportunities for traditional students,
expanding online offerings through the University's Iowa, Nebraska
and Maryland campuses.
At Chancellor Academies, Inc., now as Imagine Schools, one of
the largest charter school operators, Mr. Dyke served as Chief
Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice
President. Under his leadership, Chancellor enrolled its first
20,000 charter school students.
Early in his career, Mr. Dyke served in public policy roles at
the federal and state level, including as Deputy Chief of Staff of
the U.S. Department of Education under Secretary Lamar Alexander
and as Director of the Governor's Workforce Office in Wisconsin
under Governor Tommy G. Thompson. In these roles, he was actively
involved in public policy initiatives to create education
partnerships with business, to promote school reform, and to
institute quality management practices in public agencies.
Recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and a White House fellowship,
Mr. Dyke holds a Doctorate from Oxford University and a B.B.A. from
the University of Wisconsin.
